Chief Gene Saunders: A Legacy of Leadership, Innovation, and Service in Public Safety

Chief Gene Saunders is a name synonymous with dedication, leadership, and innovation, having spent over three decades serving in the military, law enforcement, and public safety. He was named Man of the Year for 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals and has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including three Commendation Medals, three Line of Duty Injury Medals, and three Silver Stars for Valor from the American Police Hall of Fame. His leadership of Project Lifesaver also earned him the prestigious Service Before Self Citizens Honor Award from the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and the Non-Profit of the Year Award in 2019.

A Certified Instructor in multiple law enforcement disciplines, a licensed drone pilot, and a skydiver, Chief Saunders’ breadth of expertise extends far beyond the field.
